Physiology Consulting

Stay Younger - Connect to Your Physiology

One of the major reasons to actively influence one’s physiology is to retain the capabilities of a younger body: better resilience, greater strength, quicker mind, no chronic conditions, all of which sum up to a more joyful life of greater opportunities. Having a body that is 15 or even 20 years younger than your chronological age definitely has its benefits.
A major cornerstone for any improvement is the assessment of the status quo.
Without measurement there is no management. We do not have something like a Tricorder yet, the fancy hand-held diagnostic device imagined in the Star Trek series. Fortunately enough, nowadays, and based on the advances in science, we already can measure a lot of physiological parameters. Dependent on the goal and the budget, this may comprise just a few key parameters of a medical blood test, or even the activity profile of your genes.

Regardless the budget, we can help you to make sense of your data. This also integrates data from sports physiology, as it is accessible through fitness trackers.

Examples

Here are some examples for conditions and issues for which we can support you to gain some understanding, or coach you to achieve your goals. Note that food tracking and nutritional guidance is a natural complement for any physiological analysis.

Weight and Body Composition

You know that you carry around some pounds too much. You not only do not know how to lose them, you also wonder whether something is wrong with your physiology. Or you wonder why you can not gain muscle, despite you are exercising.

Insulin Resistance, Metabolic Health and Liver Disease

40% to 50% of all people are insulin resistant, 35%+ have metabolic fatty liver, 50% to 70% have too much visceral fat. What are those conditions about, and why do they matter? Are You insulin resistant?
None of those conditions are addressed by any medical system, even in develped countries. Yet, the consequences of those are rather to be called serious: chronic systemic inflammation, cardio-vascular disease, brain damage, cancer, chronic pain of joints and connective tissue.

Medicine steps in and takes action when Type 2 Diabetes manifests and becomes obvious. But did you doctor prescribe insulin? Do you know that prescribing insulin is a mind-blowing mistreatment of Type 2 Diabetes, making things even worse and sending you directly into the grave? Talk to us for a better option and better understanding.

Blood Lipids

Did your doctor diagnose high cholesterol in your blood test? Or high ApoB, if the doctor tries to be fancy? Do you know that “high cholesterol” mostly does no need treatment at all? Talk to us for a better option and better understanding.

Accompanying Your Journey

Typically, our physiology consulting goes beyond the interpretation of single blood lab tests. We provide you with much deeper insight than just telling you “everything is ok”. Oriented at recent scientific insights, we evaluate the whole profile of available data, not just whether each parameter is inside the reference range. Additionally a report will be delivered, referring to scientific publications.

This applies particularly to more advanced diagnostic parameters, measuring metabolites like free fatty acids, ketone bodies, or gene activities, which are part of the assessment of the biological age.

Based on your situation, the fundamental analysis of your data we use then to recommend certain adjustments regarding nutrition, life style, supplements and exercise.

More data means better decisions, of course. Again dependent on your situation and your goals, some lab tests should be taken at least every 2 months, while for others a 1 year periodicity is just fine.

Support for Selecting Supplements

Which supplements, for whom, which dosage, when to take and how often, what to consider when taking them: it can get complicated, and pretty quick so. Some supplements can be considered as a staple, such as vitamin D, vitamin K2, magnesium or zinc. Others may be taken only once every 3 or 4 weeks. Others are more intricate, and the whole set should be carefully designed on the basis of deep knowledge about physiology.

Ideally, supplements are introduced in a fully controlled manner. That would require frequent and wide measurement of bio-markers as available through blood tests. it depends on your budget and dedication whether you want to handle your supplement regime in a strict manner.
Alternatively, one can rely on results of scientific research and introduce any supplement slowly. Yet, control of bio-markers should be done at least every 6 months.

Regardless the intensity you will choose, we will support you finding the right supplements and handling it correctly.

In a Nutshell…

Physiology Consulting and Coaching will help you to slow aging, avoid chronic diseases and stay young while getting old.
Physiology Consulting and Coaching is available across a wide scale of intensities.
The lower end would be a single time consultation, where we would be going to assess the status quo and interpret a medical lab report.
Your relationship with La Belle Vie may eventually grow into a perpetual coaching, which can integrate all foundational practices.
